Disclosure of unused material in Fitness to Practise cases: a practical guide

Date:
Time: 18:00 - 19:00
Venue: Webinar via Zoom

Speakers: Laura Bayley (Crucible Law), Claire Robinson (Crucible Law) and Scott Smith (Capsticks)

Chair: Francesca Snape (Markel Law LLP)

Whether you are reviewing unused material on behalf of the Regulator or deciding what material to request on behalf of a Registrant, disclosure can be one of the most difficult aspects to grapple with when preparing a fitness to practise case. This webinar will be a practical discussion about disclosure across the Fitness to Practise Regulators, including an overview of the framework for disclosure of evidence and unused material and advice about how to approach requests for unused material.

Chair

Francesca Snape, Senior Associate, Markel Law

Francesca joined the ARDL Committee in 2026.  She undertakes a broad spectrum of regulatory work, defending both businesses and individuals under investigation or facing regulatory action, including fitness to practise proceedings, police disciplinary proceedings, criminal investigations, and prosecutions. She has a particular specialism in education, health and social care regulation, defending individuals and businesses regulated by Ofsted and the CQC. Francesca also has extensive experience representing individuals and businesses at inquests.
