ARDL runs events throughout the year in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
The main events are seminars, Junior ARDL events, the AGM, the ARDL Dinner and the ARDL Annual Conference.

We are delighted to invite all ARDL members to a Manchester in person seminar which will be followed by a three course dinner. Tickets are now available to buy through the members area on the ARDL website.

This is an in person event with limited numbers and we therefore urge members to book as soon as possible. Bookings will close on Friday 31 January 2025.

The seminar will be followed by a three course dinner with drinks included. Menu choices will be circulated in advance of the event.

The seminar will be of interest to all ARDL members working in the field of professional discipline.

Speakers:

Keziah Pearson, Partner at Capsticks LLP

Keziah is a Partner at Capsticks recognised by Chambers and the Legal 500. Keziah has worked with a significant number of health and social care and legal regulators and has also represented individuals facing fitness to practise proceedings. She has worked on complex NHS fraud and sexual misconduct cases, High Court appeals, and in an advisory role for a regulator following a high profile public inquiry. Keziah is the Client Partner for Social Work England and has focused her efforts over the last 5 years to work with the regulator during its inception, implementation and running of the fitness to practise function.

Mark Whiting, Partner and Head of Professional Regulatory Sector at Capsticks LLP.

Mark is a Partner and Head of the Professional Regulatory Sector at Capsticks. He has practised in this area for over 25 years and is rated in the Legal 500 (Hall of Fame) and Chambers & Partners. As Head of Sector, he has overall responsibility for, and strategic overview of all Capsticks regulatory clients, which include seven of the ten health and social care regulators, as well as regulators in legal services and education. Alongside his experience of conducting sensitive and complex professional disciplinary cases Mark also provides advice to regulatory clients on a broad range of issues including the implementation of new policy and guidance, statutory interpretation and ways to improve processes

Colette Renton, Deans Court

Colette regularly acts for the GMC in cases before the fitness to practice tribunal. She has experience in dealing with a wide range of allegations including dishonesty, sexual misconduct, clinical issues, health matters. She has defended nurses in the NMC, and represented individuals before the British association of sport and exercise sciences, and in SIA prosecutions. She has also presented for Social Work England. Colette is appointed to the GMC panel of special counsel and has undertaken special counsel work for Social Work England
