We open our Autumn webinar programme with a bite-sized webinar looking at this recent case on the justification required for the imposition of interim orders on public interest grounds.

Speakers

 Daniel Brown is the Deputy Head of 3PB’s Professional Discipline team. He is ranked in Legal 500 as a Leading Junior in the fields of Professional Discipline and Employment. Daniel specialises in representing healthcare professionals, particularly nurses, midwives, dentists and doctors, in fitness to practise proceedings. He has also been involved in High Court and County Court proceedings arising from regulatory decisions.

Louise Hartley joined 3PB in October 2024, following five years as Head of Legal at Sport England. She began her career at the criminal bar before moving into an in-house role at the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Louise now specialises in professional discipline and has acted in numerous High Court appeals and applications. She also has particular experience in disciplinary and safeguarding matters within the sporting sector.

The webinar will be chaired by Michael Collis a Partner and Barrister at Capsticks LLP. Michael joined Capsticks in July 2021 after nearly seventeen years of practice at the self-employed Bar. Initially practising solely in crime and extradition, Michael completed a secondment with the Nursing and Midwifery Council in 2013 and thereafter has built an impressive reputation as a professional regulatory advocate. He now acts for range of regulator clients in health and social care and legal services. Michael spent two years working as a member of the Counsel Legal Team for the Undercover Policing Inquiry
