We are the United Kingdom’s leading professional association and a Professional Standards Authority voluntary accredited register for psychoanalytic psychotherapy. We quality assure the capability and competence of Registrants on our public register and investigate Fitness to Practise concerns raised by patients and third parties.  

We are introducing a new Fitness to Practise procedure as of January 2022 and we are looking to appoint Lay Panel members to our Screening Committee and Fitness to Practise Committee. The Screening Committee currently considers around 6-10 cases per year and sits virtually in the evenings and our Fitness to Practise Committee may consider up to four cases per year and Hearings last between one and three days in duration. Hearings are currently being held virtually via Microsoft Teams.
