We are seeking a skilled Solicitor Advocate to join our Defence Services team, providing expert representation in regulatory investigations, fitness to practise hearings, and coronial inquests. This is a unique opportunity to work in a supportive, member-focused environment without billing pressures, while handling diverse and intellectually stimulating legal matters.
In this role, you will:
- Represent PDA members in regulatory hearings, inquests, and disciplinary tribunals
- Provide strategic advice on professional conduct and fitness to practise matters
- Prepare cases, draft submissions, and conduct advocacy before regulatory bodies and Coroner’s Courts
- Collaborate with colleagues and external counsel to ensure robust case management
- Stay up to date with developments in healthcare regulation and coronial law
What you’ll bring:
- Qualified Solicitor (Higher Rights of Audience – Civil desirable)
- Proven experience in regulatory law and inquest advocacy, ideally within healthcare
- Strong advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload with professionalism and empathy
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering outstanding service under pressure
